Are the Japanese nose-lifting devices any good? I’m planning to use this type for my next rhinoplasty. Doctor, could you advise whether I should choose Japanese nose-lifting devices or not?

Hello, recently I have received quite a lot of questions regarding Japanese nose-lifting tools, especially Japanese silicone nose clips or Japanese nose-lifting machines that are heavily advertised on the market. Many young people hope these products can quickly change their nose shape without surgery. So, how effective are these Japanese nose-lifting products in reality, and should you use them? I will explain in detail below.

Are Japanese nose-lifting devices good?

In my professional assessment, Japanese nose-lifting devices cannot provide long-lasting nasal reshaping effects or structural changes as advertised.

Products such as Japanese nose clips, Japanese silicone nose clips, or Japanese nose-lifting machines only create temporary pressure or lifting force on the soft cartilage and nasal skin. Therefore, once removed, the nose shape will return to its original form, with no ability to restructure or permanently change the nasal bridge height.

Additionally, improper or excessive use can pose several risks:

  • Damage to the nasal mucosa, causing pain or skin abrasions.
  • Soft tissue deformation if strong pressure is applied for prolonged periods.
  • In some cases, obstruction of small blood vessels, causing bruising around the nose.

From a medical standpoint, no studies have proven that Japanese nose-lifting devices can alter nasal bone–cartilage structure. Therefore, you should think carefully before placing full trust in these products.

Should you use Japanese nose-lifting devices?

From a professional perspective, I advise that Japanese nose-lifting products should only be considered as temporary beauty tools, not a safe or long-term medical solution.

If you simply want to try a slight change in nose shape for a few minutes when taking photos or doing makeup, using Japanese silicone nose clips or Japanese nose clips doesn’t cause too much harm. However, keep in mind:

  • Do not use them too frequently to avoid compressing soft tissues.
  • Choose products with clear origins and safe materials, avoiding unregulated items.
  • Do not use them if you have thin skin, have had previous nose surgery, or have nasal conditions.

If you wish to achieve a lasting, balanced, and natural nose shape, medical aesthetic methods such as structural rhinoplasty, autologous cartilage rhinoplasty, or other advanced techniques at cosmetic hospitals are the optimal choices.

With this, you now have a clear answer regarding whether Japanese nose-lifting tools are effective and whether you should use them. If you desire a truly long-lasting, safe, and medically approved improvement, you should visit Gangwhoo Cosmetic Hospital, where specialized rhinoplasty surgeons will examine, consult, and recommend the most suitable method for you.
